Today, it’s my job birthday! Seven (!) years of good services at a Belgian ISP.
In fact I should say for third different ISP. I started to work in 1996 for Infoboard Telematics, small ISP offering dialup services and BBS. Next in 1997, Infoboard Telematics was bought by the EuroNet Internet group, a major ISP based in Netherlands and UK, so we became EuroNet Internet Belgium. In 1999, new situation: we were bought by a big player on the European market: Wanadoo, part of the France Telecom group. Our new name? Wanadoo Belgium. Now, one more time, we are for sale… And soon, Wanadoo Belgium should be part of a new big group! The story continues… but it seems that this time, the team members will fired… Wait & see 🙁
During those years, I had chance to increase my knowlege of the ISP business on a technical point of view. Lot of new technologies and services were deployed.
