Freedom Not Fear

I just found an interesting event scheduled on next Saturday: Freedom Not Fear 2009. The origin of this initiative came from Germany where authorities are known to have a strong position on data retention and Internet/mobile phone users tracking. The goal of this event is to protest against the growing number of projects in almost all countries about data retention. The risks of collecting lot of users personal data is to use them in the wrong way (the first purpose is to track cyber-criminals).

Actions are scheduled in some countries like protest marches, arts actions or lectures or flashmobs

I found strange that countries like France (where the authorities launched the HADOPI law project) does not have any scheduled action. Same for Belgium, no recorded event. Maybe due to a lack of visibility?
