Dynamic Signature Verification

Signature

Authentication is a key point in security. How to be sure that the user behind the keyboard is really the one he pretend to be? A hand-written signature can by used as an authentication factor (but combined with another one – remember – strong authentication requires multiple factors). Basic signature recognition is based on a comparison of samples with the one given by the user, like fingerprints. But it can be faked (also like fingerprints)

Grapho-Lock is company which developed a software solution which compares not only the “picture” but also external parameters like timing in X, Y, Z and pressure.

This is an interesting solution to add signature to “e-documents”. However, there is a big limitation to this technology: users need to write on a specific devices (graphical tablets).
